Brian Russell’s career spans some of the most iconic institutions in the financial world, including leadership roles at MasterCard, JPMorgan Chase, and Wells Fargo. Most recently, as SVP in the Chief Digital Office at U.S. Bank, he spearheaded the creation of the Authentication Hub—an integrated technology stack that has become a benchmark in secure, seamless customer experience.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Brian for a conversation where he shared insights from decades in the industry, and his vision for what lies ahead in digital identity, specifically the emergence of enterprise identity platforms that enable some of the world’s largest financial institutions to centralize identity management.  

“These platforms have been around for a few years, and I think what people are really starting to understand is the synergy of bringing identity, onboarding, authentication, KYC, and payments authorization together. It's really exciting to see that change.”

Because as Brian noted, “You can't do a payment without having secured the identity of the person making it.”
