Tommy Nicholas
Founder & CEO, Alloy
Tommy is the co-founder and CEO of the identity risk management company Alloy. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Tommy began his career as a software developer. He met co-founder Laura Spiekerman and Charles Hearn when the three were working at a payments startup, where the three of them recognized the need for a better tool to connect banks and fintech companies to sources of KYC, AML, and other compliance data. Together, they co-founded Alloy, and today nearly 500 banks and fintechs turn to Alloy to take control of fraud, credit, and compliance risk, and grow with the clearest picture of their customers.
Natasha Vernier
CEO, Cable
Natasha Vernier established and led the financial crime team at Monzo, one of the first UK fintechs to become FCA-authorised and regulated, from inception through its hyper-growth period in 2016-2020. Natasha’s experiences across accounting, banking, and tech give her unique insight into the use of technology to solve challenges in the financial crime space, the huge gap in effectiveness testing technology solutions, and the need for a company like Cable.
Natasha is deeply passionate about fighting financial crime on a global scale and tackling the immense negative social impacts associated with illicit financial flows. She is a strong advocate for creating enduring solutions to effectively reduce financial crime through close collaboration between industry, government, and technology firms.
As one of two female co-founders and a gay CEO of a company that recently raised an $11M Series A, Natasha’s experiences have inspired her dynamic leadership framework and helped to form the key principles of Cable’s unique Operating System. Natasha regularly speaks on topics including compliance, banking, technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Kate Ring
Chief Compliance Officer, Stash
Kate Ring serves as Chief Compliance Officer at Stash, the pioneering fintech company with more than 2M customers and over $100M in revenue that empowers everyday Americans to invest and build better lives. In this role, Kate leads all compliance and risk management efforts across the company, including leadership of the compliance program for Stash’s broker-dealer, investment adviser, bank offering and anti-money laundering program.
Previously, Kate was at LPL Financial, where she served in various legal, compliance and leadership roles including as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, Advisory. Kate earned her Bachelors of Arts degree (magna cum laude with honors) from The American University, and her Juris Doctor (magna cum laude) from DePaul University College of Law.
Chris Dean
CEO & Co-Founder, Treasury Prime
As CEO and Co-Founder of Treasury Prime, Chris is responsible for all aspects of Treasury Prime’s strategy, execution, and operations. Prior to launching Treasury Prime, he served as CTO of “API first” company Standard Treasury. When the startup was acquired by Silicon Valley Bank, he took on the role of CTO of API banking for SVB. Earlier in his career, Chris founded or co-founded software companies including Merced Systems (enterprise software), Kyluka (a consulting firm), and Benefitter (ACA-based health plan.) Chris started his career as technical staff in the Machine Learning Systems Group of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He studied physics at California Institute of Technology.
