Victoria Jackson Likens Sandy Hook Shooting To Abortion; Gives Mike Huckabee A Run For His Money

By  |

victoria jackson sandy hook shootingAs details about the Sandy Hook school shooting came out on Friday, a lot of people argued that it wasn't the time to discuss politics and gun laws. But Victoria Jackson was busy making the argument that killing 20 first-graders is just like abortion. Because (insert sarcastic tone here) that's almost as helpful and appropriate as Mike Huckabee blaming the massacre on separation of church and state.

The former Saturday Night Live comic and current outspoken Obama-hating ultra conservative made the misguided comparison on her Facebook page, posting the following on Friday:

My friend Jim Riley posted: “Wasn't the Connecticut killer just doing what abortionists do every day? It's a wonder we don't have more 20 year old “dads” doing what women and doctors have been an accomplice to for years in America. When you forget the TEN COMMANDMENTS, people, THIS is what you get.”

Argument ensued in the form of hundreds of comments on the post, but it didn't stop her from continuing the argument throughout the weekend. Later in the day, she posted:

Obama dramatically wiped a tear as he said, “The majority of those who died today were children — beautiful little kids … They had their entire lives ahead of them — birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own…”

And over the weekend, she made the classy move of wagging her finger at everyone who doesn't share her religious beliefs, blaming the shooting on schools that teach evolution…

TV News can't figure out why all these 20 year olds are murdering. The school system taught them they are animals (evolution) for the last 20 years. Survival of the fittest. They're just acting like animals.

…and agreeing with former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, who went on Fox News on Friday not to console a community and families who'd lost their six and seven-year-old children, but to remind us all that it's our own damn fault for insisting that schools not be religious. In her words:

Shelley Boring Kachermeyer Just a thought ~ We have allowed God to be taken out of our schools, out of our work places, out of our government, out of our public places, even out of the holiday that celebrates His birth. We have allowed a political party that publicly denied God not once, not twice, but three times to be re-elected into power. We have allowed prayers and Bibles to be banned. Just the mention of Jesus Christ in a public forum brings on lawsuits and angry protests – and now during a tragedy like this we are wondering where God was? He is where we allowed Him to be put – – – out! He will be there – all we have to do is invite Him. I am praying that people are touched by this most recent tragedy – that they realize we must turn to God not only in our times of need, but at all times. May God bless all those touched by the recent events in Newtown.

Thankfully, SNL currently employs people who are capable of making better judgement calls than this.
