Unhealthiest Restaurant Meals Revealed Called The Worst Of The Worst 47666 10151360336616005 468220674 n jpgThink you know what you’re getting when you eat out? Chances are, you don’t know just how unhealthy some of those restaurant meals can be. But thanks to the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), we now have a list of the top nine offenders who dish up the most fat, sodium and calories–and some of the “dis-honorees” may just surprise you.

It seems like restaurant foods just keep getting worse and worse, they do, according to Jayne Hurley, CSPI senior nutritionist, whose team evaluated the menus and nutritional content from over 200 restaurant chains:

We think this year that this is the worst of some of the worst. They top the list for being extremely high in calories, saturated fat and salt or sugar.

According to CSPR, here are some of the unhealthiest offenders:

Bistro shrimp pasta from The Cheesecake Factory. This creamy pasta dish contains a whopping 3,120 calories, 89 grams of saturated fat and 1,090 milligrams of sodium (that’s more than 50% over the average 2,000 calorie-a-day diet).

Cheesecake Factory’s crispy chicken costoletta. This chicken dish with mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus will fool you. It contains 2,610 calories and four days’ worth of saturated fat.

Johnny Rockets bacon cheddar double burger., When paired with sweet potato fries and Big Apple shake, this meal will set you back 3,500 calories, 88 grams of saturated fat and a staggering 3,720 milligrams of sodium. Not to mention 15 teaspoons of sugar.

IHOP’s Country fried steak and eggs. How bad can steak and eggs be, right? Well, this meal contains nearly a full day’s worth of calories–1,760 calories, along with 23 grams of saturated fat, 3,720 milligrams of salt and 11 teaspoons of sugar. Who knew sugar was in there?

Maggiano’s Little Italy veal porterhouse. It may come with onions and red potatoes, but it will cost you 2,710 calories, 45 grams of saturated fat and 3,700 milligrams of sodium.

Know what else made the list from Maggiano’s? Their chocolate zuccotto cake. Yes, we all expect cake to contain a lot of calories, but 1,820 of them? Not to mention 62 grams of saturated fat and 26 teaspoons of sugar. Yikes.

For the unexpected “dis-honoree” of the day, Smoothie King’s peanut power plus grape smoothie takes the award. The 40-ounce cup has 1,460 calories and 22 teaspoons of sugar.

Also on the “worst of the worst” list was Chili’s full rack of baby back ribs with homestyle fried and cinnamon apples at 2,330 calories and 45 grams of saturated fat, and Uno Chicago Grill’s deep dish macaroni with 1,980 calories and 71 grams of fat.

All we can say is, let the restaurant-orderer beware!
