Stamping, Scrapbooking and Creative Expo in New Zealand — on now!

By  |

New Zealand's answer to the United States' CHA Expo is the Stamping, Scrapbooking and Creative Expo 2005. The SENZ Expo is not as big as its American counterpart (who can beat the US in terms of size and $$$ anyway?) but for us locals living down under, it's better than nothing!

For the first time, the Expo is down in Christchurch. The original Expo was held in the country's biggest city, Auckland.

For those interested to check it out, the Christchurch Event is running from the 22nd to the 24th of April 2005 at the Riccarton Racecourse.

The second SENZ Event in Auckland will run from the 14th to the 16th of October 2005 at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manakau.

What can you expect from SENZ South? The organisers promise all day Craft ‘n' Crop, numerous classes to learn techniques from world class tutors, competitions you can enter in and exhibits of the latest stamping, scrapbooking and craft related products.

I am quite keen to check the latest products and observe the classes going on and see if I can purchase an item or two to add to my stash. I have found though that the retail prices of scrapbook-related US-imported products in New Zealand are 4 or 5x more expensive compared to buying them directly from US online stores and from EBAY even after the foreign exchange conversion and adding the shipping costs on top of the total amount of your order. Buying from the US is so much cheaper I found. But hey, nothing beats shopping in person where you can actually see and feel what you're buying.

If you're in the vicinity of the Expo, why don't you check it out for yourself? Click on this link for further details: SENZ 2005.

by the way, attending this event is not free! One day passes cost NZ$10. Expo is open from 10am to 5pm for the 3 days it will run in Christchurch.

Hope to see you there!
