10-Year-Old Girl Writes Touching Letter To Obama, Thanking Him For Gay Marriage

By  |

Wow. Just when we thought this election was losing perspective, a 10-year-old girl comes along and reminds all of us what's truly important. Sophia Bailey Klugh wrote the most touching letter to President Obama, thanking him for supporting her two dads and then asking the President a very important question about gay marriage.

The 10-year-old starts out her letter by thanking the President for allowing her two dads to marry:

But I just wanted to tell you that I am so glad you agree that two men can love each other.

She went on to say that other kids at school don't understand this though:

But at school kids think that it's gross and weird but that really hurts my heart and feelings.

And finally she asked him the all-important question:

So I come to you because you are my hero. If you were me and you had two dads that loved each other, and kids at school teased you about it, what would you do?

How awesome is that? Sophia, you are our hero.

Sophia’s dads Jonathan Bailey and Triton Klugh were the ones who originally posted this letter on Facebook, which as since gone viral. And their stance is equally as awesome:

I’ve refrained from all the political posts, but this is just too close to home to ignore. This is not about President Obama – it’s about what’s right. So frankly, if you don’t agree with the innocent, heartfelt and surprisingly straightforward position of my 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, then please unfriend me because we don’t actually belong connected here in the first place.

Right on, everyone. So true.
