Are you a fruit lover who secretly can't stand eating vegetables? The smoothie enthusiasts of the internet have your back! I'm a huge fan of breakfast smoothies, and I'm an even bigger fan of recipes that let me sneak in extra vegetables without having to really taste them. Here are 9 that I can recommend!

1. Green Machine Smoothie.

I know this sounds dramatic, but I really think of this smoothie as a little miracle. The cottage cheese gives you a burst of protein, the kale and spinach help you reap the benefits of eating a big salad, and the pineapple and honey prevent it from tasting like a garbage disposal.

2. Pumpkin Pie Smoothie.

Whoever convinced the world that pumpkin is a dessert food was a total genius. Yeah, it tends to live inside pies and pumpkin spice lattes, but it's still a vegetable with a lot of nutritional value! This smoothie gives you the health benefits of eating a plate of squash and the comfort of drinking an overpriced latte.

3. Blueberry Spinach Smoothie.

The Greek yogurt helps keep this smoothie a light and pretty purple color, and the combination of the three different fruits (blueberry, strawberry, banana) keeps the heaping cup of spinach untasteable.

4. Chocolate Cherry Smoothie.

As someone who looks for any excuse to eat cookies for breakfast, I can say with authority that all days are improved by having chocolate in the morning. The spinach folds in so discreetly that you'll never remember it's there!

5. Chocolate Mint Green Smoothie.

This basically allows you to drink a Shamrock Shake in the morning while still getting in a serving of greens. Is this the greatest idea of all time? It's possible.

6. Carrot, Orange, And Ginger Juice Without A Juicer.

Want to jump on the juicing bandwagon but don't want to invest in an expensive juicer? This smoothie recipe is here to help! Just blend an orange, some carrots, a hunk of ginger, and a little ice. It'll be cold, refreshing, and veggie-tastic.

7. Kale Powder Recipe.

If you follow these simple instructions, you can keep a jar full of dehydrated kale in your pantry and add a spoonful to every smoothie you make! It's a great way to sneak in vegetables if you're the pickiest of picky eaters.

8. Kale, Apple & Banana Smoothie.

The beauty of apples is that they're flavorful enough to overwhelm anything else you include in your smoothie, so you can add as much kale as you want and still end up with a drink that tastes like apple juice. This is a great recipe to make for kids!

9. My personal breakfast smoothie!

I'm a vegetarian, so I feel a lot better when I start my day off with a high-calorie, high-protein shake to keep me full. I've found that if you load it up with enough chocolate to dye it brown and keep it sweet, you'll never notice the green ingredients. Here's my little recipe:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1-1/2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop chocolate hemp protein
  • 1 scoop chocolate pea protein
  • 1/2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 3 tbsp egg whites
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

I've found that this is more enjoyable through a straw. This makes a HUGE smoothie, so I usually drink half of it right off the bat and take the other half with me on the road to work.
