Fave Part Of 2013 Oscars So Far: 9-Year-Old Nominee Quvenzhané Wallis

By  |

Quvenzhané Wallis just wants to win an Oscar, give her speech and then go home and eat pizza. Pepperoni pizza. Stop asking her if she feels like a princess.

The 9-year-old actress, nominated for Best Actress for her role in ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild,' was adorably inspiring with her un-self-conscious answers to the standard red carpet questions. Instead of dissembling when asked whether she had a speech ready, she confidently noted that yes, she did, but she may stray from it in the heat of the moment. This is a girl who's ready to win, Anne Hathaway be damned.

When asked whether she felt like “a princess” — a question 9-year-olds and 39-year-olds alike seemed to get on the red carpet, unfortunately (why is princess the only model for female glamour in American pop culture? We've never even had princesses) — she was all, yeah, I guess; this dress was just my favorite color and ‘sparkly and fluffy,' guys.

And when asked how she plans to relax post Oscar-hoopla? Pizza. Preferably pepperoni or “Margherita cheese.”

Good luck, little lady. You are my favorite part of the Oscars so far. You and the guy in the kilt.
