National Rum Punch Day is September 20th

By  |

Now, my sources say that September 20th is Rum Punch Day, but after doing a little digging around online, there seems to be conflicting thoughts on this, as others claim it to be August 16th.

However, I think September 20th happens to work out better. Why? Because tomorrow, September 19th, is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and well, what's a pirate with his rum?

And, with the start of fall just a few days away, a pitcher of rum punch is the perfect way to wrap up the last days of summer. There's even a handy little “poem” to help you remember how to make a traditional rum punch:

~ One part sour (lime juice)
~ Two parts sweet (sugar)
~ Three parts strong (rum)
~ Four parts weak (water)

Simply combine everything together, serve over ice and grate a little fresh nutmeg over top!
