Morrissey has scored a victory for vegetarians everywhere: his upcoming March 1 concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center will be 100% vegetarian. Not all the attendees will be vegetarians (although wouldn't that be funny? Hardcore vegan bouncers who would throw people out if there's beef jerky in their purse!), but all of the vendors will be serving vegetarian food.

Morrissey has been a vegetarian since a young age and he's said his choice was spurred by his mother. In a press release, he said of the concert:

“I don't look upon it as a victory for me, but a victory for the animals.”

The Staples Center has agreed to close their McDonald's kiosks during the concert, something they previously denied Paul McCartney, another outspoken vegetarian. The Staples Center and the promoter, Goldenvoice, have each also agreed to donate a portion of ticket proceeds to PETA.

This isn't the first time Morrissey has caused a venue to go meatless, but since Morrissey has said he's going to quit music in a few years, you'd better start stalking Craigslist now if you want to get tickets to this sold-out, veggie-friendly show.
