LeAnn Rimes Denies That Entering 30-Day Clinic Is For Eating Disorder

By  |

LeAnn Rimes is marking her 30th birthday by checking herself into a 30-day in-patient treatment facility. But even with prior speculation about possible anorexia, the singer denies this has anything to do with an eating disorder.

Rimes has been the victim of body bullying and thin-shaming in the past with some speculating that she has an eating disorder, but her rep, Marcel Pariseau, told People that she is not seeking treatment for this or a substance abuse problem:

LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress. While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated.

And that's a request that's more than fair. No one deserves to have their lives–or their bodies–ripped apart by snarky tabloids or nosy people.

Rimes checked herself in yesterday–the day after her 30th birthday –and said she hopes to emerge from treatment as a better and stronger woman:

This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be.

She went on say:

All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them.

Happy 30th, LeAnn. We wish you the best.
