Kelly Osbourne Just Keeps Being Body Positive, And We Love Her For it

We've given Kelly Osbourne love in the past (Plus, that purple hair? So much yes!) But we've got to laud her again for her latest body-positive comments in the new issue of SELF magazine.

Kelly's been in the news in the past year or so for her dramatic, 70-lb weight loss. It's something she's proud of, she says, but something she doesn't take for granted, especially considering the fact that she recently had a seizure:

“I never want to take my good health for granted. The seizure was 60 seconds, but those 60 seconds will change my life for the better forever. I've worked hard to get in shape, and I'm going to continue. Not because being ‘skinny' is important, but because I want to feel good.”

We can definitely get behind the message that health is more than being skinny, but we especially loved Kelly's comments about one of the most common things women (including celebrity women!) do: compare themselves to one another. She says:

“I don't compare myself to anybody else. It's okay to have a healthy envy and look up to somebody and set goals, but you have to realize that you're never going to be exactly that person. Wishing you were Angelina Jolie or J.Lo isn't going to change the fact that you're not. Why not start working with what you do have instead of what you don't?”

Solid advice, Kelly, especially in light of our The Body Positive month, going on right now in April. Loving the body you have is exactly what body positivity is all about.
