Don’t forget the current pink ribbon giveaway: a Pure Romance Gift Collection (follow that link to enter)!

For the fourth consecutive year, the world-renowned and master wine glass craftsmen at Riedel Crystal have created a limited edition beverage holder to support Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBCC).

This is no ordinary beverage holder: Robert M. Parker, Jr. (The Wine Advocate) calls these “the finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes.”

While raising your glasses in toast, you’ll be raising funds for an organization that helps empower all women touched by the disease.

Riedel’s limited edition 2008 Pink CrescendO set features four Pink O Chardonnay/Viognier glasses:

  • Each glass has a pink colored base which graduates from light to dark over the four glasses
  • The glasses come in a beautifully packaged black box adorned by a pink ribbon
  • LBBC receives 15% of proceeds
  • The first three glasses in the series, the Pink O wine tumbler (2005), the Pink O Champagne glass (2006) and the Pink Vinum Rosé glass (2007) sold out in record time, generating more than $185,000 to LBBC.

“We have been continually amazed and gratified by the enthusiastic response to these glasses from both retailers and consumers,” says Maximilian Riedel, CEO of Riedel Crystal of America and creator of the O glass. “People are still asking for the Pink O glass three years later, so we decided to introduce a collection of four this year. The slight variation in shades makes it easy for guests to know which glass is theirs.”

It’s never too soon to start your holiday shopping! The 2008 Pink CrescedO set is $70 and are available online.

“The effect of these glasses on fine wine is profound. I cannot emphasize enough what a difference they make.” — Robert M. Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate

Mr. Mendelsohn contacted me a few weeks ago. Here. Let me share:

“Thumbing aimlessly one night through my wife’s SHAPE magazine, I came across a marvelous Pink Ribbon product. I liked it so much I even ordered it for my wife: They’re four pink wine glasses from Reidel. The wine glasses come in four shades of pink; when I received them today I was really impressed. A portion of the purchase price goes to support Breast Cancer research. I’d be happy to write about the product and the experience for your blog.

Now, who am I to turn down that kind of offer?

In addition to being a generous man (obviously), Mr. Mendelsohn is a product marketing, communications and branding leader. He’s currently CEO of The Hired Pen. The Hired Pen is a full-service marketing and communications firm that provides fast, effective communications solutions to businesses of all sizes and types.

Mr. Mendelsohn has written, placed and been interviewed for stories in national media outlets, including CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Presents, The Situation Room, and Headline News, ABC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, FOX News, Associated Press, America Online, The New York Times, USA Today, The Boston Globe, and TV, radio, and newspapers throughout the U.S.

On a personal note, Bruce has completed 16 marathons and is an award-winning triathlete. He lives in Auburn, Massachusetts with his wife.

I thank you, Bruce, for bringing such a great product to my attention, and for generously writing about it with such passion.
