Today in gimmicky, gross food news: gummy ear wax candy.

The website that sells them, Candy Warehouse, has some pretty clever copy for their disgusting/hilarious product, though:

Picked fresh from the inner recesses of a large, crusty ear, these chewy gummy morsels feature a delicious lemon flavor. Nifty ear graphic packets seal in quality!

Also, “Q-Tips not included.” Haaaaaa. But actually, ewwwww. Extra points for actually putting an edible piece of candy inside a HUMAN EAR in the product picture, too.

Honestly, I don't know who the target audience for this candy might be, other than 5th grade boys. I mean, candy that is specifically manufactured to look like a huge chunk of EAR WAX? Come on. That's just plain gross. (And also sounds like something that the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter books would have been into).

Don't get me wrong: despite the fact that I write for a health and wellness blog, I am a huge candy lover. HUGE. I could eat candy all day every day and be as happy as a clam. But this? No matter how deliciously lemon-flavored it might be, I don't think I could ever get past the idea that I was eating something designed to look like gunk that comes out of your ear.

Would you eat the gummy ear wax candy?
