If You Wanna Get Laid More Often, Start Using Emojis

emoji heartThat old saying about using your words? Don't. It turns out that emojis speak louder than words, especially when it comes to getting laid.

According to a recent study conducted by Match.com, singles who use emoji are having more sex than those who choose to stick to good old fashioned words. The survey polled 5,675 singles whose demographics represent the U.S. Census' population, so in short, the results are pretty accurate.

Let's break down some of the findings, shall we?

According to the survey, the most used emojis were of a flirtatious nature: the wink (53% used), the smiley (38% used) and the kiss (27% used). In terms of emojis respondents would never (like, ever) send a potential romantic interest, the sassy “Information Girl” emoji (40% wouldn't use), lips (38% wouldn't use) and monkey (33% wouldn't use) were all included.

The study's leader, Dr. Helen Fisher, told Time that regular users of emojis are doing more than just spending some quality time in between the sheets. “They go on more dates and they are two times more likely to want to get married,” said Fisher. The study showed 62% of emoji-lovers want to get married versus 30% who never use the icons. So, think about that the next time you're debating whether or not you want to message the person you just matched with on Tinder.

In other interesting news, the study also concluded that women are not into receiving sexts and selfies from dates. Seventy-seven percent of women said “no, thanks” to sexts and 48% have no interest in receiving selfies (probably because men who take selfies are actually really narcissistic). Pass.
