All the holiday ham, turkey, stuffing, casseroles, cookies and pies–not to mention wine and cocktails–has left us feeling bloated and sluggish. The good news is that you can use the very thing that got you feeling that way–food–to detox your body. No silly starvation or juice-only diets needed. Here are ten of the best foods to cleanse your colon and vital organs, rev up your digestive tract and remove toxins from your body:

Beets. These dark red rooted veggies are chock-full of vitamins B3, B6, C and beta-carotene, iron, fiber, magnesium, zinc and calcium–all the necessary components for healthy detoxification and colon/digestive tract cleansing. Beets also support good health of our gallbladder and liver–two organs that are important breaking down and removing toxins in our body.

Broccoli. This green veggie contains important phytochemicals that are released when they're chewed, cooked and digested, which aid in digestion and detoxification. If you want the most detox bang for your buck, opt for broccoli sprouts because they contain 20 times more sulfurophane than regular broccoli.

Lemon. Add some to a glass of water first thing in the morning and it will stimulate the release of enzymes that can clean out the digestive tract, rid the body of toxins and cleanse the liver.

Seaweed. We all know that virtually anything green is good for us, but seaweed, in particular, contains powerful antioxidants that help to alkalize the blood and strengthen the digestive tract.

Fruit. Since fruit contains so much water, it makes a perfectly natural cleansing food. Plus, they are easy to digest, high in antioxidants, nutrients and fiber–all things needed for optimal detoxification of the intestines.

Garlic. It may be strong, but with good reason. Garlic is a powerful antiviral, antiseptic and antibiotic–all of which help rid your body of toxins. No need to eat it raw–just toss some in your food and you can reap the detox benefits.

Kale. Nothing will get your digestive tract moving like leafy greens. Veggies like kale, spinach and collard greens contain chlorophyll which will boost your digestive tract to eliminate toxins.

Green Tea. Not only is it soothing to a bloated tummy, but green tea eliminates toxins and boost liver function with its antioxidants called catechins.

Omega-3 Foods. Things like avocado, olive oil and flax seed oil can literally grease up the intestinal walls, making elimination easier.

Water. Drink lots and lots of water throughout the day to aid in digestion and elimination.
