Today begins Comic-Con International 2014 at the San Diego Convention Center, where comic enthusiasts gather to meet their heroes and make new friends, often in elaborate costumes. And so, since I personally can't be in attendance, I've collected some comic-inspired goodies in honor of the west coast celebration. Drool away!

1. Peanuts Lucy Cupcakes

Charles Schulz and the Peanuts have a warm place in my heart, and there's a Comic-Con event dedicated to this beloved comic strip. And so behold, the most mentally sound cupcake I have ever seen.

2. Star Wars Cookies

It wouldn't be Comic-Con without Star Wars, and I think these cookies are worth having an epic light saber battle over. Just look at Leia!! I never want to eat that cookie. Yes I do.

3. Captain America Cocktail

If you're lucky enough to be in attendance at Comic-Con, you can pre-game with this Captain America Cocktail over at The Commons.

5. Ninja Turtle Cake Pops

It's been a big year for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; they got an animated reboot on Nickelodeon, and a sure-to-be blockbuster movie on the horizon. But here they are in cutesy cake pop form.

6. Battlestar Galactica Cake

Holy frack. If you're a BSG freak like me, you're just as excited about this cake as you are about the upcoming new movie. So say we all.

7. Godzilla Cake

The Ninja Turtles aren't the only sea creatures who got a movie reboot this year. The big man himself was on the big screen, but here's a cake that makes him just look cute as a button. A button I want in my belly.

8. The Simpsons Cake

The best cartoon to ever grace television (dispute me, I dare you) is a staple at Comic-Con, and this cake makes me drool more than Homer over a pink donut.

9. Star Trek/Dr. Who Cookies

More staples of geekdom, Star Trek and Dr. Who get the cookie treatment from a bakery you should already be familiar with, Butterwinks.

9. Hellboy Cake

Mike Mignola, the award-winning creator/writer/artist of Hellboy, is making a special guest appearance at Comic-Con. The comic is also celebrating it’s 20th anniversary, so what better time to whip out this incredibly realistic cake.

10. Joker & Harley Quinn Wedding Cake

Just in case you're a Batman fan who also has a wedding coming up, this geekily romantic cake features a bride and groom Harley Quinn and Joker.
