Celebrity Sex Tips: Sting and Trudie Styler Talk Marriage, Romance, and Tawdry Sex

In an interview for Harper's Bazaar‘s February 2011 issue (accompanied by a racy photo shoot from Terry Richardson, above), Sting and Trudie Styler spoke about work, family, and marriage, offering insights into how they keep  going in their relationship of nearly 30 years. “We treat every day as it comes,” Sting told Bazaar. “Relationships aren't easy, and I don't think they're particularly natural, but we're lucky because we actually like each other. We love each other – that's a given – but Trudie lights my world up when she comes into a room. I don't take her for granted.”

The couple's sex life, at one time rumored to involve tantra, is anything but diminished by the length of their marriage and size of their family (they have six children; three from Sting's previous marriage). Sting didn't speak to the tantric sex rumors, but offered: “When we see each other, it's romance. I don't think pedestrian sex is very interesting. There's a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up.” When asked about the most romantic things they've done for each other, Sting responded simply: “Romantic? We like tawdry.”

Styler, who's releasing her new DVD, Weight Loss Yoga, with Gaim in March, opined that the longevity of their marriage owes itself to communication and hard work: “It's important to have frank discussions about what the other wants,” Styler says. “To be in a relationship that is like a little lifetime, that's a challenge.”
