Extreme Bootcamp with Lacey Stone. Celebrity trainer, Lacey Stone, offers an app that's been called the “ultimate hardcore fitness routine” with eight different workouts that are designed to be done anywhere.

iTreadmill. For $1.99, you can get this app which allows you to track your steps, distance and average speed throughout the day. And unlike most pedometers, you can simply put your phone in your pocket or purse to record your distance. It's like a virtual treadmill.

GymGoal ABC. This free app will teach you the basics of weight lifting. It includes 280 exercises with animations and written instructions, 52 workout routines (adjustable for four levels of expertise) and the ability for you to add your own images. There are also calculators for computing target heart rate, BMI, BMR and body fat percentage.

Pocket Yoga. In this handy app, you can choose from 27 different yoga practices. New to yoga? No problem. This app also features an extensive dictionary of yoga poses and terms and top-notch yoga instructors that lead through three different variations of each practice, based on your level.

iFitness. For $1.99, you can download this app which provides more than 230 exercises sorted by body regions or muscle group. It also offers 100 instructional videos and allows you to customize the exercises according to your goals.

Nike Training Club. In this app, professional athletes and Nike's top trainers have created hundreds of workouts for women, designed for various fitness levels.

Couch To 5K. This app won the 2012 Appy Award, and it's easy to see why. It will encourage and motivate even the most dedicated couch potato to get moving and train for a 5K in just nine weeks with its virtual coaches, recorded mantras, a native music player and graphs to record your workouts and track your progress.

FitnessBuilder. Considered one of the most comprehensive apps, this one will run you $9.99. But you will get over 200 workouts, which can be automatically chosen by the app's technology to create the best workout for you. It's also includes over 2,0000 photos and videos, five fitness timers, complete tracking capabilities, an array of calculators and the ability to ask their exercise physiologist personal questions.
