Well Being

Aunties and Uncles and Cousins, Oh My!

By  |

There's an old saying, “Children are the poor man's jewels.”

To my mind there is nothing more precious, more beautiful or more valuable to me than my children. But, like people who posess shiny things to wear that they think are pretty hot, I enjoy showing off my children to be admired. Nothing does my heart better than hearing how lovely, how cute, how polite and intelligent they are.

We've been travelling to see the friends and relatives. I saw many of my mother's siblings and my cousins. Did I ever feel good about the attention they lavished on my children. My little jewels.

All physical difficulties aside, this kind of experience, is the best part of motherhood.
