10 Recipes That Prove Pears Are The Apple Of Winter Time

By  |

It’s time for the pear to get some recognition for being a versatile, delicious, and healthy fruit. Especially now that Thanksgiving is over and it's officially not apple season anymore. Did you know that there are literally thousands of recipe ideas that include the pear?!  Well now you do. I went through all ten thousand and narrowed it down to these 10, enjoy!

There’s something about pears and cinnamon together that just works.  This smoothie is simple to make with ingredients you probably already have at home.  Feel free to throw some spinach in there for an extra vegetable boost.

2.  Pear and Chia  Whole Wheat Pancakes

PANCAKES!!  This recipe actually calls for pears mixed INSIDE of the pancakes.  Unlike dumping a few pear chunks from a fruit cup on your plate (don’t judge me).  This delicious breakfast also includes chia seeds, for the people who want to be all healthy and stuff.

3.  Pear and Scrambled Egg Breakfast Pizza

Speaking of breakfast… here’s some pizza.  And not the kind of cold pizza that you eat in the morning with a nasty hangover.

4.  Pecan and Pear Salad

This is your entire meal in one bowl.  It contains spinach, pears, pecans and quinoa.  Dig in!

5.  Pear and Caramelized Onions Pork Chops

As we've already discussed, pears are the apple of winter. Which means they also go really well with pork. The sweetness of the fruit and saltiness from the meat is a perfect combination.

6.  Pear Walnut and Mock Banana Ice Cream Tower

Planning on having guests over this holiday season?  Of course you are.  Try this chutney out with cheese and bruschetta for a great spread on your coffee table.

8.  Spiced Pear and Parsnip Soup

What better way to warm up your day than a hot bowl of soup?  Parsnips and pears together pack a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals to help fight off that cold you’ll inevitably catch.

9.  Chocolate Souffle With Pears

Supposedly, there are some people out there who don’t like pears.  We are not friends… However, my advice to them is to just eat pears with chocolate.  Because chocolate makes everything better.  EVERYTHING.

10.  Pear and Cranberry Cocktail

Chances are you will want a cocktail this season.  And when you do, you will remember this recipe.  It contains pear flavored vodka.  Vodka companies know what’s up.
