Vampire Diaries Stars Paul Wesley & Ian Somerhalder Reunited & It Feels So Good
TVD fans, brace yourselves! We don't think your hearts are ready for the latest Vampire Diaries reunion! First, there was Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev‘s epic reunion in December and now the actor reunited with his TV brother, Ian Somerhalder! We're not saying we prefer this get-together to the other, but it's so nice to see Stefan and Damon Salvatore in the same room again!
It's been almost a year since fans saw Paul and Ian side-by-side, so when they took a photo over the weekend, the fandom went wild! After all, what's better than these two together? The pair, who played the Salvatore brothers on the hit CW show from 2009 to 2017, attended a fan convention in Nashville where they posed for a selfie together. Paul then shared the photo on his Instagram story alongside the simple caption, “reunion.” Obviously, it's giving us all the brotherly feels.

We're also super jealous of all the lucky fans who got to be a part of their reunion.

But before we get TOO excited, don't expect to see them on TV again anytime soon. Unfortunately, their reunion does not mean there will be a Vampire Diaries reboot or spin-off.
However, we always have The Originals’ last season to look forward to! The series will feature the highly-anticipated reunion between Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaelson. We have so many questions about how the series will wrap up including if Klaroline's love story wo;; pick up right where they left off in TVD? Showrunner Julie Plec isn't making any promises, but it'll definitely be nice to see them together again.
“I think what people can expect and count on is a nice thread of Caroline as a guiding counselor to Klaus in terms of fatherhood,” she told TV Guide. “She’s a mother, she lost her husband, and she knows [Klaus] very well — better than some of the people in New Orleans. She understands the desire he has to be a good person in the name of his daughter, and she’s very quick to recognize that he’s not doing a very good job. She’s a friend, she’s a support system, and she calls him on his sh*t.”
“Of course there’s still that electricity between them. That’s always going to exist. No promises of where that goes, but it’s nice to see again,” she continued.
In related news, Julie, who guest-directed an episode of season 2 of Riverdale, revealed that the two shows have a surprising connection. It turns out that Cheryl and Penelope's Blossom's house was the original Salvatore Boarding House from the pilot! So cool, right?
“It was so funny. I had seen Thistlehouse on camera but it hadn't registered with me. And when we pulled up the driveway for the location scout to go see it, I was like, ‘This is so familiar. I feel like I've been here before,” she explained. “And then I actually took a good look at the house and realized it was the Salvatore House from the pilot. That was a nice flashback!”
If you're ever feeling sad that TVD is over, at least we have Riverdale! Now if only Ian, Paul AND Nina could all get together! We'd love to see that love triangle together again.
