It's safe to say Quincy Jones is NOT a fan of Taylor Swift or her music. In an interview with GQ magazine, the legendary music producer took aim at the “End Game” singer's career. While he expressed admiration for artists like Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Drake, and Mary J. Blige, he “made a face, somewhere between disapproval and disdain” when asked he if likes T. Swift. In other words, Quincy made it very clear that she is not one his favorite artists of this generation.

When asked what was wrong with her music, he said, “We need more songs, man. F**king songs, not hooks,” and mentioned that the thing missing from her music is “Knowing what you're doing.” He explained, “Since I was a little kid, I've always heard the people that don't wanna do the work. It takes work, man. The only place you find success before work is the dictionary, and that's alphabetical.”

He then claimed that the reason people think Taylor has great songs is that “they don't know.” “I've come and gone through seven decades of this sh*t. Seen all that. Seen how that works. Ignorance is no thing,” he said.

Taylor or her reps have yet to respond to the criticism, but OUCH! Quincy did not hold back and he certainly doesn't seem worried about hurting her feelings either. “I always get in trouble, you know,” he said earlier in the interview. “My daughter Kidada calls me LL QJ—Loose Lips.”

Naturally, Swifties are furious with Quincy following his comments:

The person does make a valid point since Taylor is one of the few artists out there who still writes most of her own lyrics.

One thing is for sure: Taylor shouldn't take Quincy's remarks too seriously or personally. Elsewhere in his GQ interview he also claimed that Elvis Presley couldn't sing either. Actually his exact words were: “Yeah! Yeah, motherf**ker couldn't sing” – and we all know that isn't true!
