Knowing that the next (and final) season of Game of Thrones won't be coming out until 2019 means that until then, we're basically clinging onto whatever crumbs of information we can get our hands to when it comes to GOT season eight. The latest GOT insider to reveal some behind-the-scenes info was none other than Sophie Turner, who revealed that she and her co-stars were overcome with tears during their table read for the finale season.

The actress, who plays Sansa Stark, told The Hollywood Reporter that rather than reading one episode at a time, the cast decided to read through all of them at once. She said literally everyone who is part of the HBO series was there for the emotional moment and that not one of them had a dry eye. If they cried, then we're definitely going to cry!

“The day where we had the final read-through for the final script, it was really bittersweet. It was hard,” she recalled. “At the end of the very last script, they read aloud, ‘End of Game of Thrones.' As soon as they read that out, pretty much everyone burst into tears. There was a standing ovation for David and Dan [the show runners]. We were all clapping and cheering. It was amazing. It was the first time every single cast member had been there and sat through all of the scripts for season eight.”

We would have loved to be a fly on that wall! Aside from the tears, Sophie also opened up how reading the final lines of the series came as a total shock. Not only because it's going to be an amazing finale, but because they realized that it's all over.

“When you’re in it, you don’t really see an end point,” she explained. “It’s just an ongoing thing you’re living with. It was a real shock. It was really sad, but there was an immense amount of pride, too. We realized we had done it. We had created this amazing thing, and that’s it now.”

So far, the show has received over 110 Emmy Award nominations, with 30 wins to date. They also have a Golden Globe win under their belt and have been nominated for others, too.

“It was the craziest feeling,” Sophie continued. “It’s the biggest project we’ll ever do. We’ve put our hearts and souls into it. Saying goodbye to it means putting parts of our hearts and souls behind. But we also know we’ve given it everything that we’ve got.”

Luckily for them, they still have a lot more time together since they'll be filming the last season of the show for the next eight months! However, that doesn't stop Sophie from wondering what she'll do with her days once Game of Thrones is done filming.

“The anxiety of, ‘What the f*ck are we going to do when this whole thing finishes?'” she joked. “Panic started there. Probably since season five I started personally feeling like it was all winding down. All of the sudden, we started hanging out a lot more often and realizing we shouldn’t really take this for granted. We’re having more dinner parties and making the most of it more now.”

They do hang out a lot and there are photos to prove it. When they're not working on their own projects the cast tries to get together, especially Sophie and BFF Maisie Williams.

We've got a bit of a wait before we'll be able to cry our tears over the show's finale episode. While we hate to see shows end, the GoT series finale already promises to be one to remember!
