The Feud Continues?! Sarah Jessica Parker Offers Kim Cattrall’s SaTC Role to Stephen Colbert
Sarah Jessica Parker continued to tease our Sex and the City 3 dreams during her recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. The actress, who played Carrie Bradshaw in the hit HBO series and movies, made light of the recent drama surrounding the possibility of a third installment by offering Kim Cattrall‘s role to Stephen Colbert! It's actually pretty shady when you really think about it, but we're going to assume SJP's intentions are not to spark anymore feud rumors.
Here's how it happened: The late-night TV host said he wouldn't ask about the potential for a SATC 3, but did joke about what role he could play if there is another movie.
“Well, there’s an opening!” Sarah jokingly replied, laughing.
“Oh, really? Who do I have to act like? What would my character be like?” Stephen asked.
“According to just very recent documentation about why we’re not making it is because the part usually played by Kim Cattrall has been vacated. So, that’s what I mean,” she said before offering him the role. “Perhaps you’d want to play Samantha?”

Elsewhere in the interview, Sarah commented on the fact that she and the SATC crew were not allowed to film the second movie in Abu Dhabi because it contained the word sex in it. Instead, they filmed their scenes in Morocco. We bet you didn't know that, huh? Neither did we.
But back to the whole drama with SATC! The exchange comes after Sarah confirmed that the possibility of a third movie was dead due to Kim's “outrageous demands.” Kim later admitted that she didn't have any desire to make another movie and denied that her demands had anything to do with it.
“Now at this very moment it's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying for almost a year of ‘no' that I'm demanding or a diva,” she told Piers Morgan. “And this is really where I take to task the people from Sex and the City, and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, in that I think she could have been nicer.” OUCH!
“We’ve never been friends,” Kim also said, breaking all of our hearts. “We’ve been colleagues and in some way, it’s a very healthy place to be.”
At the 2018 Golden Globes, Sarah reiterated that there's likely no future for the film.
“I mean, not as far as I can imagine. Unless…,” she told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, before firmly stating, “I mean, no. No. I struggle with it because it’s a bit sad, but I think one must keep these things in perspective. I have a lot of incredible memories, singular memories, that are shared among those four women, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experience.”
Although all signs point to no, we're still hopeful that the SATC women will make it work someway or another. If not, we always have the whole series and the first two movies to enjoy over and over again!
