Prince Harry Officially Picks Prince William to be His Best Man
It's about time! Just weeks before his wedding to Megan Markle, Prince Harry finally revealed that he chose his brother Prince William to be his best man. Not surprising, especially because Harry also served as William's best man in his wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011. It seems like William is just returning the favor! Like we said, this news isn't exactly shocking since Harry and William are very close. TBH, we're just shocked it seemingly took Harry so long to choose!
Kensington Palace's Twitter account made the official announcement, writing “Prince Harry has asked his brother The Duke of Cambridge to be his Best Man at his wedding to Ms. Meghan Markle.” The message was posted alongside three adorable photos of the royal brothers.

“The Duke of Cambridge is honored to have been asked, and is very much looking forward to supporting his brother at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor on May 19th,” they shared in a second tweet. Since the royal family isn't allowed to have social media accounts of their own, this is the closest thing we'll get to a tweet directly from any of them.
No other details about the wedding party have been revealed, but we're sure that Kensington Palace will update fans when it's official. After all, this royal wedding has been the most-talked about event of the year. According to the rumor mill, there's one person who will likely be standing with Meghan at the altar and it's her longtime BFF Jessica Mulroney. According to Vanity Fair, Jessica has also been Meghan's “secret wedding planner.” Sources say she's been helping the bride-to-be make all the important decisions. “They are on the phone daily discussing every element of the wedding, from the dress to the flowers to the canapés and the photography,” the insider said.
The best man announcement also comes just days after William and Kate welcomed their third child. The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a healthy boy at St Marys Hospital in London. The newborn, who is fifth in line to the throne after his grandfather, father, and siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, has yet to be named. However, we're sure it'll be announced any day now. Though we don't know if the new addition to the royal family will attend Harry and Meghan's nuptials, it was confirmed that George and Charlotte will have roles in the wedding!
There are only three weeks left until Harry and Markle make things official, so we're hoping more updates are on the way. Can May 19 come any sooner?! We're seriously counting down the days.
