Another day, another Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande rumor to clear up! The lovebirds may be the most shipped couple in Hollywood right now (sorry, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin), but that doesn't mean fans won't call them out when they think something isn't right. So when Pete revealed that he had gifted his fiancée with his late father's firefighter badge, some people thought he went a little too far. But after fans realized that Ariana might not have been the first person to be gifted this sentimental piece of jewelry, Pete was slammed on Instagram yet again!

The drama all started after Pete posted a photo of Ariana wearing his dad, Scott Davidson‘s FDNY pendant on a necklace on July 14. While many thought it was a beautiful gesture, others thought it was inappropriate. Pete defended his decision, writing that his dad's badge is the most important thing he owns and that who he gives it to is no one's concern. “For ur information that’s not just some girl. That’s my fiancé,” he wrote. “She’s the greatest person I know. I gave it to her because she has my heart and that is the most precious thing I own. my dad would be so happy and love her so much.”

Who are we to judge who he gives the necklace to? After all, Ariana has made it very clear that she's committed to him. She got his dad's badge number “8418” tattooed on the top of her foot in honor of his memory, so we think she's proven she's worthy. However, after fans discovered an old pic of Pete's ex Cazzie David wearing the EXACT SAME NECKLACE (it appeared), it caused a little bit of confusion.

Tons of users flocked to the comments section of Pete's photo to get answers, so the Saturday Night Live star cleared up fan speculation by revealing that Cazzie's is a replica.

“@iamcharicehughes actually i didn’t give that to my ex. yes she had one but it was a replica,” he wrote after he replied to a fan who said called giving the necklace to both women is ridiculous. “i had a bunch of replicas made. my sister and grandpa also have one. the one that ari has is the one my dad actually died in and the one [he] wore his entire career and the one i’ve worn for 17 years. i’ve actually never taken it off other than for snl or work. so it means a lot of me. hope this helps.”

He concluded by reminding everyone to learn to be a little nicer and not assume the worst in people. Meanwhile, Ari has stayed pretty quiet about the whole Cazzie-wearing-the-same-necklace drama, but it's probably because she knows she got the real one around her neck! If there's one thing for sure, it's that Pete and Ariana keep proving that their love can overcome it all.
