If you’re already getting pumped for Netflix’s Riverdale spinoff?Sabrina The Teenage Witch dark reboot, you’ll love this next piece of news. Weeks after learning that Kiernan Shipka will be taking on the title role, Sabrina’s best friend has been cast, as well. Get ready to welcome Jaz Sinclair to the show, everyone!

According to  The Hollywood Reporter, Jaz will play Rosalind Walker, Sabrina’s BFF at Baxter High. Although the original TV series focused on the friendship between Sabrina and a character named Jenny (played by Michelle Beaudoin), the Netflix series is instead pulling its inspiration more directly from the comics — more specifically, the Archie Comics graphic novel The Chilling Adventures of SabrinaIn that version, Rosalind was originally Sabrina’s enemy who later became known as a fellow witch and friend, so it’s definitely going to be fun to watch their relationship play out on screen.

And if Jaz looks familiar to you, it’s probably because you’ve already seen her in other popular shows and movies. She starred in Paper Towns alongside Natt Wolff and Cara Delevingne, and she has appeared in shows like Easy and The Vampire DiariesHearing that she’s already been on set for a supernatural teen drama is really reassuring, so it seems like we can definitely count on Jaz to be an awesome addition to the Sabrina cast.

Netflix has already ordered two seasons of the series, so it seems like they’re putting a lot of faith in the franchise already — no shocker, considering how quickly Riverdale has blown up. So far, there’s no release date yet, but hopefully, that information is coming soon, especially if the show continues filling us in on the other details as casting continues. For fans of the original TV series, it might be crazy to think of a Sabrina cast that consists of a new, younger crowd, but it’s also going to be really interesting to see where Netflix takes this. At the end of the day, it’s a totally different show, so it seems like something anyone can get into — not just people who imagine Melissa Joan Hart every time they think of their favorite TV witch.

If this new, darker incarnation of Sabrina The Teenage Witch is anything like Riverdale, consider us obsessed already… and since the show is being made by the same brilliant people, it sounds like it’s in good hands. All we need are the rest of the cast announcements. Who will be Harvey?!
