Minnie Driver and Alyssa Milano had some harsh words for Matt Damon after he made some controversial comments about sexual misconduct in Hollywood. Following his interview with ABC News, the actor came under fire after he said that when it comes to sexual assault, we need to differenciate how we approach allegations based on ‘how bad’ the action is.

“There’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?” he told the news outlet. “Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated, right?”

He also went on to defend Louis C.K., saying that everyone should trust that he won’t do it again because of his remorseful apology. Minnie, who also happens to be Matt’s ex and Good Will Hunting co-star, did not agree with his remarks and immediately blasted him on Twitter.

Matt has yet to respond to the backlash, however, Minnie had more to say to The Guardian. “I’ve realized that most men, good men, the men that I love, there is a cut-off in their ability to understand,” she said. “They simply cannot understand what abuse is like on a daily level.”

She went on to say that no one has the right to comment on other people’s abuse – especially men – and added that men should “let women do the speaking up right now.”

“If good men like Matt Damon are thinking like that then we’re in a lot of f*cking trouble,” she added. “We need good intelligent men to say this is all bad across the board, condemn it all and start again.”

But Minnie isn’t the only person to call out Matt after his controversial interview. The Charmed actress also explained why she and other women have the right to be outraged by what is going on.

The actress also condemned the Matt Damon’s remarks by using his comments and comparing them to cancer instead. She said that sexual misconduct is like cancer since there are different stages of cancer. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s still cancer.

It takes a lot of guts to publicly call out a bigtime Hollywood actor, but we can’t agree with Minnie and Alyssa’s words more. No matter how different each allegation may be, at the end of the day, all of these actions are interconnected and need to be taken seriously.
