Meghan Markle Reveals Prince Harry is a Feminist During Public Appearance

Just in case you needed one more reason to be obsessed with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, here it is. During a public appearance on Thursday, Meghan confirmed that Prince Harry is, indeed, a feminist, making him even more dreamy than we already thought he was.

According to People, it happened when Meghan and Harry were talking with people who waited for them outside of Cardiff Castle in Wales during their visit. A 23-year-old named Jessica Phillips told the magazine that she told Meghan it was nice to see someone who's always been outspoken about women's issue join the royal family, to which Meghan replied, “thank you! Well, he's a feminist too, so there's that.”

You can see the exchange in this video, as well as Meghan sporting her messy bun once again. She seems pretty happy to have the conversation, too.

We love that that was Meghan's response. There's been a feminist in the royal family all along, but the more the merrier, right?! We wouldn't be surprised if Prince William and Kate Middleton were with him on that one. This isn't the most shocking news in the world, though, would Meghan really settle for anything less? Judging by the fact that she's been an activist since her childhood — did you hear about how she went on Nick News to protest a sexist dish soap commercial when she was only 11? —  it seems unlikely that she'd marry someone who didn't share her views in the first place. In a way, it was like she was sticking up for Harry to make sure people know a cool fact about him that they might not already be aware of. Isn't that what your better half is for?

Oh, and for the record, it sounds like Meghan is just as sweet as she appears. Jessica also told People that “she was so lovely,” which is exactly what we expected to hear from Meghan, who, by all accounts, seems to be a totally flawless individual.

“I said it was really lovely to have a feminist in the royal family, and she said Harry is a feminist too,” Jessica said.

The royal family has always been very vocal about supporting causes that matter to them, like visiting children's hospitals and spreading awareness about mental health issues. Maybe once Harry and Meghan have tied the knot, they'll be putting intersectional women's rights a little higher on their lists? It would be awesome to see Harry, Meghan, Will, and Kate band together to fight for gender equality. We could totally see George and Charlotte (and mystery baby number three, of course) in matching “The Future Is Female” t-shirts.
