Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale posted a cryptic message on social media that has fans concerned about the 28-year-old actress. In a text post shared on Instagram and Twitter (that has now been deleted from both), Lucy implied she had recently gone through an experience with sexual assault. Soon after she published the photo on Instagram, Lucy deleted it and reposted it on Twitter with the message, “I deleted it from Instagram. But this needs to be heard.” She then deleted the message from Twitter, too.

“I never understood sexual assault until tonight,” the actress wrote in the message. “I always sympathized, but never felt the pain of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss of words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”

A fan shared a photo of Lucy’s since-deleted message on Twitter.

Obviously concerned fans have about a thousand questions running through their brains: what happened? Why did she delete the posts? Who did this to her? It’s all unclear for now, but after she shared her story, her followers immediately sent support her way. “Lucy Hale became a victim of sexual assault last night. shocked. disgusted. sending all the love & prayers her way. we love you,” one fan wrote, while another added, “LUCY HALE YOU’RE IMPORTANT, LOVED AND ADMIRED!”

Her message comes just after it was reported that her house was broken into and robbed. According to TMZ, someone entered her San Fernando Valley home by breaking a window, then stole at least $15,000 worth of jewelry and purses. Thankfully, Lucy wasn’t home when the burglary occurred.

She thanked her fans for their support via Twitter after the break-in, saying:

Lucy is the latest actress to share her personal experience with being sexual assaulted publicly. Most recently, Bella Throne revealed she had been sexually and physically assaulted when she was a child.

More men have also been accused of sexual misconduct in the past few weeks, including James Franco and Aziz Ansari. The Disaster Artist actor was met with allegations of sexual assault after he won an award at the 2018 Golden Globes and wore a Time’s Up pin. Then, the Master of None star was accused after a photographer came forward about Aziz’s alleged attempt at sexual coersion during a date they shared. In a babe article titled, “I went on a date with Aziz Ansari. It turned into the worst night of my life,” the anonymous woman goes into detail about her time with Aziz inside his apartment.

There is no word on whether Lucy will speak out about her experience again, but we can only imagine the pain and heartbreak she’s going through. We also hope that she deleted the tweets on her own volition. We’re sending her all our support.
