Jennifer Lawrence Gushes Over How “Hot” Timothée Chalamet Is
Jennifer Lawrence has officially joined the “I have a crush on Timothée Chalamet” club! Can we blame her!? Have you seen him? Well, it turns out we weren't the only one who fell in love with the actor after watching Call Me by Your Name. Jennifer, who's currently promoting her new movie, Red Sparrow, told Entertainment Tonight that she thinks Timothée is “hot and talented.” However, he's going to have to wait a couple of years if he wants a chance with the Hunger Games star!
“Timothée, I’m waiting for him to get a little bit older, you know?” she said. “[I’m] buttering him up like a pig for slaughter, and then I’m going to swing right in there as soon as he’s, like, 30. He’s old enough to say that, right? He’s over 18? What if I was like, ‘He’s hot!’ and he’s 15?'”
After being told that Timothée is 22, the 27-year-old responded, “I didn’t realize he was so young. Tell him to wait!… [He’s] so, so talented and hot!” You can watch the whole interview here.
The real question is whether or not Timothée feels the same – and he does! Speaking at the Golden Globes last month, he said, “If I saw Jennifer Lawrence – I already met her, so I don’t know why I would still be geeking out – I would totally be as starstruck as if it was the first time.”
When he's 30 that would make her 35, which isn't even a very big age gap at all. After all, Jennifer, 27, has been with older men herself in the past so age clearly isn't an issue for the actress. She dated director Darren Aronofsky, 48, before splitting in December. She was even linked to 40-year-old Coldplay frontman Chris Martin at one time.
But Jennifer isn't ready to date right now, anyway. She recently said she's currently in “single mode,” but predicted she’ll soon be feeling lonely without a partner.
“I am in the single mode where I am like, ‘Cool, I can do whatever I want and I can be alone and watch terrible TV.’ And then, of course, in a few months, I will be devastatingly lonely and feel like I’m on some long waiting list. But I am not there yet,” Jennifer revealed.
Jennifer also told ET that she wants to take the next year off from acting to focus on activism. “It doesn’t have anything to do with partisan [politics]. It’s just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy,” she explained.
Her rep later clarified to Entertainment Weekly that Jennifer will return to work when one of several projects in development is ready to film. Phewf! As happy as we are that she wants to “fix our democracy,” we also like watching her movies. According to her IMDB page, she'll reprise her role as Raven/Mystique in the upcoming X-Men movie and star in a new movie called Bad Blood. There's also her untitled comedy with Amy Schumer to look forward to!
We have nothing to worry about! Now, we're just all hoping that Jennifer runs into Timothée at an Oscars after-party so they can have a good laugh as they plan their hypothetical future of bliss!
