Don’t you just love it when Cole and Dylan Sprouse talk about each other!? While it may be tragic to know that Dylan probably won’t ever be taking a guest-role on Riverdale (and even more tragic to find out that Dyl doesn’t even watch!) — it’s heartwarming to know that they still do work together – even if their not starring side-by-side anymore like they did during the Suite Life days. Dylan sat down for a new interview with MTV News, where he discussed everything from his upcoming movies to his relationship with social media, and, of course, his relationship with his twin brother!

“The misconception is that we don’t work together now, but we actually very much do, but in a very different way,” Dylan revealed. “Cole and I proofread and bounce ideas off each other 24/7. It doesn’t ever really stop, whether or not it’s an audition tape or tweet or reading my script and [him] telling me what you think of this character. We’ll go grab a beer and talk about it.”

Unfortunately, the work that the two brothers are doing together won’t likely translate into any shared screen time. Dyl said it would have to be a “really, really, cool project” in order for him to even consider it. “It’s easy to stereotype twins into any role,” Dylan added. “There’s not a lot of great twin roles written and often times when there are, they’re given to a single actor who green screens themselves into both places.”

We completely get it. After playing twins on Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody for seven years (and sharing roles prior to that on shows like Friends), we understand why they might not want to do it again. They’re their own people, and would probably much rather do something independently than constantly be associated with one another.

Late last year, Cole shut down any hope that Dylan would join him on Riverdale. “I wouldn’t want it, Dylan would never do it, and I think it would break fourth wall too much,” he told Glamour.

“A lot of my fans from the Suite Life still come up and say, ‘This would be fun!'” he continued. “I think it would just be silly. It would be super, super weird and totally not appropriate.”

We don’t think the term “totally not appropriate” is completely accurate. After all, Riverdale LOVES to throw a twist in for viewers! Can you imagine Jughead Jones finding out he’s got an evil twin, who turns out to be the Black Hood, who also tries to kidnap Betty?! The possibilities are endless!

Elsewhere in Dylan’s MTV interview, he opened up about why he and Cole took an acting break.

“Both my brother and I always intended on getting back in acting,” he said. “It wasn’t ever something that we were like ‘a hard never again.’ We just wanted to take a break because I think coming off of the seven-year run on the Suite Life, we wanted to detach ourselves from that idea.”

“It was easier when we were away for four or five years to actually grow not only physically but intellectually so that people would have an easier time disassociating us,” Dylan continued.

That’s exactly what they did since the two stepped away from the public eye for a little while. Cole made his comeback with his role on Riverdale and Dylan has been working on projects, too. In fact, he revealed that he “secretly” might going to China to film a big action film very soon.

“Let’s just say that if it happens there will be sword fighting, horseback riding, and full armor the entire time, which is exactly the type of sh*t I like,” he said.
