Arrow fans will be happy to hear that Colton Haynes is set to reprise his role as Roy Harper, otherwise known as Arsenal, this season! After months of speculation, the CW announced that the actor will return for an undisclosed number of episodes during season six.

“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper for a short arc on Arrow this year,” said executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle in a statement (via Deadline). “Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”

This will mark Colton’s first appearance in the series since a guest spot in season four. He first appeared on Arrow in the second half of the first season and later became a series regular, signing a two-year deal before leaving when his contract was up at the end of season three. Following his exit, Colton went on to make appearances in Scream Queens, American Horror Story: Cult, and he even returned briefly to Teen Wolf.

Although plot details are being kept under wraps, we’re excited to have him back! There’s no denying that fans are excited to see Roy back on Arrow, too.

Even Colton’s co-star, Stephen Amell (AKA Oliver Queen himself!), is thrilled about the news of his return, too:

No confirmation on which episode will see Colton return as Roy, but Arrow will be back with new episodes on January 18th on the CW. Until then, we’ll have to imagine what will go down when Roy and Thea finally reunite. Is this a way for Willa Holland‘s character to leave the show? All we know for sure is that it will spark a change in both their lives and our minds are racing trying to figure out what that means.

Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see…
