For those of you who were bummed to find out that Melissa Joan Hart wasn't very interested in the Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot, we've got some VERY exciting news to make up for it! According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Clarissa Explains It All reboot is in the works at Nickelodeon and Melissa will be back as Clarissa Darling! Because so much time has passed since the show first aired in 1991, the actress will play a mom to her own family this time around.

The original series, which ran for five seasons on Nickelodeon, starred Melissa as a teenager who often spoke directly to the audience as she dealt things such as family issues and boy problems. It also starred Jason Zimbler, Elizabeth Hess, and Joe O'Connor who played Clarissa's brother and parents, as well as Sean O'Neal, who played Clarissa's best friend Sam Anders.

Since the reboot is still in “early discussions,” it's unclear if any of the other characters will be back. Though we're excited AF about the news, it should also be noted that THR reports that Nickelodeon nor anyone involved in the project has confirmed anything. Therefore, fans shouldn't get too ahead of themselves just in case! However, considering the way Melissa has spoken about the possibility of a Clarissa reboot in the past, we're pretty confident it'll all work out for the best.

“I like the way we left Sabrina. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don't think you want to go back and explore that. At the same time, I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn't really have an ending — it sort of ended,” she told THR in February.

Back in 2015, Melissa told E! News that she wasn't sure if she wanted play Clarissa or Sabrina again due to the fact that it could make or break the rest of her acting career.

“I think it would have to be done really right. You can only go back to the well so many times,” she said. “It's either going to be done really well and people will only know me as this one character for the rest of my life, or it's going to be really embarrassing and I'll never work again.”

“I think it's a really tricky, fine line to walk as an actor and I had a fantastic time on that show and I just think fondly on every moment I had — all seven years on Sabrina and those four years on Clarissa — but I think you just have to be really careful with that stuff,” she continued.

Well, it's clear that she's willing to take that chance – and for that, we're so grateful. After all, reboots are the hottest trend in Hollywood right now, which is why we know that Clarissa will do well. Who would have ever thought that in 2018, two of Melissa's show would be back on TV? Honestly, in a perfect world, all of our favorite shows would get a reboot!
