Chip And Joanna Gaines Revealed They’re Expecting Baby No. 5 In The Cutest Way

This news calls for some shiplap! Fans of Chip and Joanna Gaines have reason to celebrate, now that the couple has revealed they are expecting their fifth child together. And the Fixer Upper hosts let the world know in the sweetest way online! The duo shared their happy news the very same night as a new episode of Fixer Upper aired (great PR move!) and it was family night. On the Fixer Upper episode, Chip and Joanna Gaines fixed up a house for a very special family — Joanna’s little sister’s family! And as the episode aired, the two posted a very special photo.

Chip shared the above snapshot online, with Joanna holding his belly while showing off a belly of her own! Chip captioned the adorable photo with, “Gaines party of 7.. (If you’re still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT).” Since sharing late on Tuesday night, the Instagram post has gotten over one million likes. Clearly, everyone is excited about a new little Fixer Upper baby!

The couple first met in 2001, after Joanna graduated from Baylor University (three years after Chip had graduated from the same school). They got engaged in 2002, with Joanna picking out her own ring, and were married in 2003. Chip and Joanna are already parents to Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7. But one more baby is always welcome!

According to Joanna’s Instagram post of an ultrasound, Chip swears that Baby No. 5 for the Gaines Family is going to be a boy. Chip also shed some light on how the baby bump came to be. He wrote on Twitter, “Hint #3 You might recall a few months back.. the ever amazing, ever romantic @JOHNNYSWIM was in Waco. And they put on a little too romantic of a concert.. anyways, one thing led to another, & we are officially pregnant. And I could not be more EXCITED! #5 #7ThePerfectNumber.”

This baby news comes only a few months after it was announced that the family would be ending the hit HGTV show, Fixer Upper, after its fifth season. They’ve been flipping houses for over 12 years now as part of Magnolia Homes, but also have other side projects they’ve been working on for the past few years that they want to give a bit more attention (i.e., the most amazing Target line).

“I think for us we felt that season five was just the perfect end to this beautiful chapter, but really the why is time, you know,” Joanna Gaines told E! News after news of the final season of Fixer Upper broke. Congrats to this growing family! May they enjoy this time together.
