Mark Your Calendars! Camila Cabello Announces First-Ever Solo Tour
Who needs a Valentine when we've got Camila Cabello tour news to keep us busy? In just two months, the “Havana” singer will hit the road for her Never Be the Same Tour. This will mark her first time touring without her former girl group Fifth Harmony – and it could not have come at a better time. Not only has Camila taken over all the charts, but this tour will prove that she's a force to be reckoned with. The dates will cover major cities in Canada, the United States, and even parts of Europe!
The way she announced her tour was the best part. “question #1: will you be my valentine?
question #2: wanna come fly with me?” she wrote on Instagram. The answer is YES to both!
Tickets will go on sale to the general public Feb. 16 at 10 AM local time on her official website. According to Billboard, a portion of proceeds from sales of VIP packages will be donated to the Children's Health Fund – proving that Camila is just as generous and thoughtful as she seems.
Considering how well she's been doing since her album, Camila, dropped earlier this year, it looks like she's definitely ready to take on the stage solo. The 20-year-old recently opened up to People about her quick rise to success after leaving Fifth Harmony in December 2016.
“There’s definitely a lot of those pinch-me moments, which are super cool,” she said. “People that I grew up with that made me want to pick up a guitar and start writing songs — they’re people that I have friendships with. It’s amazing and weird and surreal and crazy.”
As for why she left, it had little to do with drama with the girls. Instead, she revealed she wanted the chance explore her songwriting and perform her own stuff.
“With the experiences we had being in the studio, I became super-curious about songwriting and it was around the time – I think it was the second year that I was with the group – that I wanted to start songwriting for other people,” she told Net-a-Porter's The EDIT in a recent interview. “But once I was old enough to experience my first kiss or the first time that I went out on a date, I began writing songs about it, and I didn't want to give them away to anybody else because they were about me. I was finding my voice, and with it, I found the passion that gives you a deeper meaning.”
As sad as we were when she left Fifth Harmony, we really like Camila's solo work. She has new music, a new tour, AND a new man in her life! 2018's been treating her well.
