It's hard to believe that it's already been 10 years since Heath Ledger unexpectedly died of an accidental overdose, but the milestone passed on Monday. It's impossible to imagine how difficult losing Heath has been on his ex (and the mother of his daughter, Matilda Ledger), Michelle Williamsbut fortunately, she didn't have to remember Heath on her own this year. Her best friend, Busy Philipps, was there to comfort Michelle on the anniversary of his death, and it's really great to see that she has a friend around to offer her support like Busy does.

If you follow Busy online, you know that Michelle makes frequent appearances on her Instagram posts, and this time was no different. Monday, Busy shared a photo of her and Michelle cuddled up and looking a little sad, accompanied by the words “it's OK.” Of course, Michelle could have been sad about anything, but it seems likely that this photo was taken during a time when she was remembering Heath.

So sweet, but so heartbreaking. Of course, Busy and Michelle have always had a legendary friendship, going all the way back to their time starring on Dawson's Creek together, but this is next level support. And as People pointed out, Busy also took the time to mourn Heath in her own way this year, by sharing a video of herself on her Instagram story, listening to the song “Time To Pretend” by MGMT and crying when it made her think of him.

“I was just driving and I was thinking about my friend Heath who died 10 years ago and this song came on,” Busy explained. “It came out after he passed away and I remember when it came out, because it made me think of him. I just thought he would have liked this song. And for some reason, every time I hear this song… it’s weird.”

When news of Heath's death broke in 2008, the world was totally shocked to hear that he'd passed. Even though Michelle and Heath were no longer together at the time of his death, it seemed like they were still good friends (especially considering the fact that they shared a daughter) and since his overdose, she's had so many positive things to say about the impact he had on her life. In a 2011 interview with Marie Claire, Michelle said:

Very obviously, for me and for her, there's a hole in our life. Of course the natural inclination is to want to fill it and make it disappear, but what I've come to recently is that it's impossible. Nothing will fit in that hole because what we want back we can't get, which is this one person. I'm not going to rush anything and scamper around like a mad person and make myself crazy. I'm trying to be respectful of the absence. I'm not trying to fill it up.

It can't be easy to pass that anniversary date of a death of a loved one every year, but it's great to see that Michelle has such an awesome support system in place. Once again, Michelle and Busy are complete BFF goals. If only everyone had a friendship like this duo's.
