In a joint interview with W Magazine, Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone let us in on a little secret: they’re just as charming and down-to-earth together as they are apart. Aside from the fact that they have undeniable chemistry, it’s their BFF-love story that really has us loving their friendship. It turns out they bonded over having the same stalker! Well — kind of. The actresses reminisced about the time they both believed they might have not actually been texting with one another in the early stages of their friendship, but rather a “stalker” who attempted to charm them.

“We both had the same stalker and his name was John the Orchestra Guy,” Jennifer explained before Emma clarified that he wasn’t really a stalker, per se, just a guy with a lot of phone numbers.

“He texted me and said, ‘Hey, Alex.’ Or he makes up a name. ‘I’m running late on my way to the soundstage. Can you warm up the orchestra for me? Make sure the orchestra’s warmed up for me.’ It was always about the orchestra. ‘Can you text me back and let me know you get this? John.'”

So since Jennifer and Emma’s friendship began via text, they both had the same fear when it was time for them to finally meet face to face!

“We had been texting every day for a year, but we’d never talked on the phone and we’d never met,” Jennifer recalled. “Then we were finally going to meet and she sent me her address and I’m driving over, and on the way over, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, what if this is John the Orchestra Guy?’ She thought when I was on the way over, ‘Oh my God, what if this is John the Orchestra Guy?’ So then I called you and we were like…hello? That’s the first thing we had in common. We’ve all been there, right?”

Sounds like an episode of MTV’s Catfish! But it’s one of the few with a happy ending. It’s no wonder these two get along so well — they basically have the same sense of humor! There’s more where that came from in the interview.

Another thing that bonds the two: childhood experiences with turtles! When asked about her first kiss, Jennifer explains that she first smooched a boy who helped find her lost turtle in the woods. We also find out that Emma owned a turtle of her own that ran away.

“This is criminally undiscussed: turtles run away,” she explained with a straight face. “Nobody discusses this; you have to keep your eye on your turtle.”

If these two aren’t your new fave BFF duo after watching, then you should probably watch it a second time.

Aside from this hilarious interview, the pair is always talking about their friendship like it’s something from a Nicholas Sparks book. In 2016, Jennifer said the two of them texted every day for a year after that, joking, “I feel like it was our version of The Notebook — 365 texts.”

Then, remember when they shared this hug at the Toronto Film Festival? Some people thought their friendship was on the rocks due to the awkwardness, but that was clearly not the case. It’s still funny to watch the video though since their encounter was relatable AF.

“She is so inspiring to me and I am so grateful that she exists in the world as someone who is authentic and who has not bent to fit any idea of what a woman should be in that kind of position,” Emma told Stylist mag in 2014. “She is so talented. I am just so happy she is around for women everywhere. It’s just fantastic.”

Excuse us a moment why we take a moment to really enjoy the fact two of our favorite actresses like each other just as much as we like them.
