Another Bachelor Winter Games couple has called it quits. Last month, we were devastated to learn that Ashley Iaconetti and Kevin Wendt split up, and now Clare Crawley confirmed that she and fiancé Benoit Beauséjour-Savard have officially ended their engagement. The couple, who met on The Bachelor spin-off and got engaged during ABC’s World Tell All special, were together for two months. The reality stars announced the news in a joint statement on Thursday, April 5, both sharing the same photo of their feet on their personal Instagram accounts.

“We understand A lot of you have been asking about our relationship since the show, and we wanted to thank you all for the love and respect as we navigated it in real life off camera. We do understand however, having a public engagement on TV kind of changes that,” they wrote.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we have mutually decided to end our relationship. We think the world of eachother, and we were both hoping we could make this work. I’m sorry that this may not be what you want to hear, but it’s our truth. Just know there are no negative feelings here,” they continued. “We are simply two people who believed in love and were open enough to give it a chance. We still care for each other very deeply.”

As sad as we are to see that yet another couple can’t make it post-Bachelor, we can’t say we didn’t see this one coming. If you watched show this winter, then you’ll recall that Benoit went home after Clare rejected him. The two later reconnected after the series was done filming, and Benoit decided to propose on live TV. However, he did admit that his choice to pop the question “was kind of a last-minute decision.”

Even Clare had no clue that Benoit was going to get down on one knee. “I did not expect this!” she told Extra TV after the televised engagement. “That’s honestly not anything that was on my radar.”

Following news of their split, we think his proposal might have been a little too premature. Also, considering Clare lives in California and Benoit lives in Montreal, Canada, the long distance was most probably another reason why they mutually decided to break up.

As we know, this franchise doesn’t exactly have a super great track record of couples who’ve been able to make it work when the cameras stop rolling. Thankfully there are a few couples who are still together, including JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth, as well as Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo.

We know so many of the relationships that get their start on The Bachelor don’t work out in the long run, but we were really rooting for Clare and Benoit.
