The countdown to The Bachelor is on! On Monday, ABC released the first full promo for Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season, and just from the clips we're seeing in the trailer, it looks like it's going to be an incredible season. Best of all? It also included some of the earliest glimpses of his contestants — and hopefully, among them is the woman he'll spend the rest of his life with. After all this guy has been through on national television, he totally deserves an epic happily ever after.

When Arie was announced as the next Bachelor a few months ago, fans were pretty taken aback. After all, everybody kind of expected that the next leading man might be someone from Rachel Lindsay‘s season of The Bachelorette, like Peter Kraus. But nope, they decided to go with a wild card, and even though the reactions weren't all stellar, it sounds like people are warming up to the idea. And if you're still not sure, this trailer might be what convinces you that he's the right guy for the job.

The promo kicks off with a rehash of Arie's heartbreak on Emily Maynard‘s season, before launching into what we can expect in the new episodes. And of course, it wouldn't be a Bachelor trailer without a play on Arie's name, so it makes clear (multiple times) that the season starts on Janu-ARIE first… and there are even a few race car references thrown in for good measure. It's a good thing the cheesiness is such a big part of the reason why we love this show.

And regardless of how fans might have felt about Arie taking the lead, it looks like the contestants on his season are pretty thrilled about it. They're all super pumped when he walks into the room for the first time, and it looks like the competition between them could get brutal, which has the potential to create some pretty good television.

Best of all, it seems this season will include all the best Bachelor tropes, too. Champagne in the hot tub, contestants facing their fears on adventurous dates with Arie, even dancing on stage to a live concert on a date — something that seems to happen every single season. This is good stuff, guys, and we can't wait to see it all go down.

With just over a month to go until The Bachelor is back, the wait is almost over… and like the trailer promises, it seems like it'll be worth it. After all, is there any better way to kick off 2018 than with a brand new Bachelor?
