The Bachelor‘s Arie Luyendyk Jr. admitted that he still keeps in touch with his and Ben Flajnik‘s mutual ex-girlfriend, Courtney Robertson, and that she gave him some advice before he left to film the show. After Arie was announced as the next Bachelor, there was some speculation on whether or not his ex would make an appearance — we know Court loves the drama after her stint on Ben’s season. However, when he was asked if the rumors were true, he immediately shut them down.

“We’re actually still really good friends! I own the place that she lives in, so I’m her landlord,” he told E! News before adding, “the romantic side of our relationship, that was way in the past, so we’re just really good friends. It’s fun to talk to her about this whole experience because she’s been through it… so before I left we had a good conversation about it.”

We wonder what they discussed! Courtney probably told him to take everything the ladies say with a grain of salt considering she was totally painted as the villain while she was on the show. While she was the winner that season, she and Ben split after only seven months. She started dating Arie shortly thereafter, leading many to believe she dumped Ben for this upcoming Bachelor. Awkward.

As the newest Bachelor season quickly approaches, new details are finally being revealed! For instance, Arie reportedly pulled a Ben Higgins by falling in love with two women! We all remember what happened when Ben H. decided to tell both JoJo Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell that he was in love with them, don’t we? It created a lot of confusion and ultimately ended in heartbreak. Did he really have to tell them both? The answer is still no.

So will Arie make the same mistake? We’ll have to tune in to find out. “I fell in love with two women, and I didn’t know I was capable of that,” Arie told People.“I’ve never been in that situation, and it was really hard. And they were two very different women, and that’s what made it even harder.”

“I didn’t know I was really capable of having strong feelings and being in love with more than one person, but that happened. The end was really difficult for me. And I think that it’s because it’s such a huge decision, and it’s my life,” he continued. “But I’m happy, and I wouldn’t have changed anything.”

One thing is for sure, though, Arie knows how important his decision is and that a life-long marriage is what he’s looking to find on the show.

“The toughest part of about being The Bachelor would probably be the end, making tough decisions towards the end,” he said, according to Parade.com. “It’s the hardest decision of your life, really. It’s a forever decision, so, it’s not taken lightly.”

The Bachelor premieres Monday, Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. on ABC. See you there!
