Amanda Bynes has big comeback plans for the new year! The actress, who’s kept a low profile for the last few years, is planning her turn to acting in 2018 – and it’s exactly what fans have been waiting for. Her lawyers even told Page Six that Amanda has already received a couple of acting offers!

“Amanda is looking forward to ringing in the new year with her close friends this year,” her legal team revealed. “In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting. She has had several offers but is waiting for the right one to come along for a comeback.”

Is this real life!? How many of you remember the day Amanda said she’d be retiring from acting? It feels like it was just yesterday that she was breaking our hearts with the news. In June 2010, she announced her retirement via Twitter, telling fans that “being an actress isn’t as much fun as it may seem” and that she didn’t love doing it anymore. She was 24.

It came as a shock to her fanbase, who followed Amanda’s career for years. She first made a name for herself with Nickelodeon’s The Amanda Show, then went on to star in What I Like About You. However, many might favor her roles in movies such as Hairspray, She’s the Man, and What a Girl Wants. Her last role was in 2010’s Easy A with Emma Stone.

Following her retirement, Amanda basically went M.I.A, spending several years under the radar. Then, when she did come back to the Hollywood scene, she made headlines for her bizarre Twitter tirades, her number of arrests, as well as being placed on multiple involuntary psychiatric holds. She even told Drake she wanted him to “murder her vagina.” It was definitely a weird couple of years.

But, the now-sober actress managed to get her life back on track and eventually enrolled in courses at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

In June of this year, Amanda sat down with Hollyscoop to confirm her plans to return to acting, although, at the time, she didn’t have anything specific lined up.

“I do miss acting, and I actually have something surprising to tell you: I’m going to start acting again,” she said at the time. “I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on a show that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of in the future.”

However, if her comeback doesn’t go as planned, she can always attempt to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. “I’ve learned how to sew, make patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future, so FIDM has been helping me with that,” she explained in the interview.

Is anyone else excited about this news? We sure are. After all, everyone loves a good comeback – just ask Britney Spears! If Amanda plays her cards right, she could be back before we know it.
