If you’ve been following the Charmed reboot on The CW at all, then you probably have heard about the controversy surrounding it. Basically, the stars from the show’s original run haven’t exactly been the biggest supporters of the new version – Holly Marie Combs has been particularly outspoken about her disapproval of the network re-casting the roles of the central sister witches and branding the show as a “feminist” reboot with “an LGBT twist”!

But up until now, Alyssa Milano has remained pretty silent about how she feels about The CW revamping the show she helped make famous in the late ’90s. While promoting her new show Insatiable, Alyssa finally spoke out about how she *really* feels about the show coming back to the small screen later this year.

“I wish that they would have come to us and we would have been involved since the beginning,” Alyssa told Entertainment Tonight. “But having said that, I do hope that it reaches the newer generation and impacts that generation the way ours was able to do for its generation.”

And although she wishes the show’s execs would have reached out to her, Holly, Shannen Doherty, and Rose McGowan months ago when the reboot was first conceived, it looks like it would be too little too late if they were to reach out now. When asked if she’d consider making a cameo or directing an episode of the newer version of the show, Alyssa said, “I think that that ship has sailed for me.”

Not going to lie – that kind of makes sense! OG Charmed fans obviously want to see the Halliwell sisters appear in the reboot, but considering most of them feel slighted by the people re-creating their legacy, it’s unlikely.

The new Charmed starring Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, and Madeleine Mantock premieres Sunday, October 14, at 9 PM ET!
