Shailene Woodley Wore Overalls To The Divergent After-Party, Because You Can’t Harvest Herbs In A Gown

Shailene Woodley in overalls with Veronica Roth Divergent premiere after party March 2014

In case you need another reminder that Shailene Woodley is the most adorable thing since that cat video you watched five times in a row at work yesterday, look no further than the outfit she wore last night to the after-party for the premiere of Divergent. She walked the red carpet in a “meh” Elie Saab gown, but she partied it up in a pair of overalls over a crop top. Because she's Shailene Woodley, and she does what she wants.

Just look at her up there striking a pose with the books' author Veronica Roth, who looks so edgy and statuesque in that gown with that hair and those cheekbones that I initially assumed she was just Shailene's random model friend. When you think about it, why wouldn't Shailene change into overalls? It makes total sense.

Overalls are so much more convenient for picking herbs. Because that what I'm assuming Shailene did as soon as she got home after this. She popped into her garden and plucked fresh penis-shaped herbs well into the night before changing into her true fairy form and falling asleep on a soft flower bed to the sweet lullaby of a family of songbirds. And then in the morning she was gently woken by the scent of fresh-baked cookies wafting from the home of the Keebler elves who live in one of her trees. Just another magical day as Shailene Woodley.

Shailene's approach to fashion is clearly the direct opposite of Jack Donaghy's “It's after six, what am I, a farmer?” motto. Shailene says, “It's after six, of course I'm a farmer!” Will she officially bring overalls back into style, after years of failed predictions about their comeback? Will we end up hating her for it? Will anyone ever look as cute in them as she does? Only time will tell, but my seven-year-old self is very excited to find out. Never change, Shailene. Never change.
