The Daily WTF: You Just Got Pwned By Olive Garden On Facebook

By  |

Today's Daily WTF is more of a Daily What The Fail.

Since Facebook allowed users to start tagging friends in their status updates, I've heard a lot of negative feedback about how invasive the tool can be, or how it blows people's covers: Not wanting to be tagged in a Vegas trip when your friend checks in, trying to keep it on the down-low that you're out to lunch on your “sick day,” etc. But this screenshot of an irate Olive Garden customer's Facebook status is the ultimate cautionary tale on why you should be very careful who you tag.

Olive Garden "Fuck you too bitch" Facebook check-in

As you can see, a (presumably female) user who doesn't understand social media at all decided to complain about her recent trip to Olive Garden… while tagging her status with the restaurant. Most likely this person was still at Olive Garden, or on her way home from an apparently disgusting dinner and felt compelled to complain.

But whoever operates Olive Garden's Facebook page was savvy enough to notice this mention and responded in kind. And honestly? The woman deserved it. Olive Garden is not exceptionally good food, nor has it ever been. (Sorry.) So you know what you're going into. Either she was an idiot and didn't realize he'd tagged the restaurant, or she was intentionally baiting them.

And bravo to Olive Garden for calling her out.
