Watching A Couple Break Up Using Movie Titles Will Make You Want To Break Up With Someone Just To Try It
Sometimes I think the Internet is just too full of awesome and creative things, and we're getting so spoiled by them that if the apocalypse ever comes and we're forced to live without technology, we will all go crazy from the lack of viral videos. Yes, these are the kinds of things I worry about on a day-to-day basis. But I think we're already too far gone to undo the damage, so let's watch more fun videos anyway. Like this one from New York comedy group POYKPAC that stages a break-up in which the only phrases used are movie titles. All I have to say about it is: OBSESSED (the Beyonce movie). Sorry, that's all I could come up with.
The video stars Jenn Lyon and Ryan Hunter as the couple breaking up and Maggie Ross as the waitress at the restaurant. They use 154 movie titles, and you can see the posters in the middle of the screen for reference. If you want to have even more fun, you can avoid looking at the posters and just listen to the conversation. It sounds really convincing, and it's clear that a lot of work went into this. In fact, Ryan responded to a YouTube commenter by saying it took him “two long, frustrating days spent wanting to throw my computer out the window and imdb with it.”
Be warned, however, that watching this video might make you tempted to try this out yourself in real life. If you're in a relationship, you'll be fighting back the overwhelming desire to call it quits for the sake of comedy and creativity. If you're not in a relationship, you'll be on the prowl for a new mate just so you can break up with them. Of course, once you try to script the break-up you'll realize how incredibly difficult it is to come up with movie titles, and you'll give up the plan anyway. So I suppose it's safe for you to watch.
