Jennifer Lawrence Tells Heartwarming Family Story That Makes Me Hate Her Mom
As part of her whirlwind press tour to promote Silver Linings Playbook, Jennifer Lawrence stopped by The Ellen Show to tell a story about her mother. Yes, she has a mother! Who knew? Not me.
You know that thing when you're little where you think your teachers live in your classroom and only exist Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. And then one day you see them out and about grocery shopping and you freak out that they're not only allowed to leave the school, but also allowed to run errands like any other human being.
Well that's how I feel about celebrities most days. I forget they're living, breathing human beings who comes from real, live families. That's probably why I love hearing their personal anecdotes so much. It reminds me that they don't just exist when I'm in the mood to peruse Youtube.
So while I don't want to ruin this clip for you, I'll give you a quick rundown of what to expect. Jennifer Lawrence just got invited to the Academy. Yes, that Academy. The one that you and I will likely never be in. (Unless I get a callback for Liz & Dick 2.) As a member of the Academy, she received a ballot to vote for the movies she wants nominated for the 2013 Oscars. However (here's the twist) her mother opened her ballot while Jen wasn't home.
The plot thickens, but you'll have to watch the clip to find out what happens.
