But Us Magazine has found a way to keep interest in the season going, by asking Denise Richards if she would consider joining Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Her response was an enthusiastic, “Heck yeah, I would! It’s one of my favorite shows.” While Bravo hasn’t even commented on her remark, let alone confirmed it, let’s be honest. Denise would be a great fit. She’s beautiful, famous, and crazy enough to fit right in with the rest of the cast.

Maybe I’m biased because I would watch anyone/anything on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. When the season was announced, my first thought was “YES! Why didn’t they do this city earlier?” After the train-wreck that was Real Housewives of DC, a new city that focused on aspirational, beautiful people, real wealth, and excessive self-indulgence was a welcome reprieve.  It just made sense.

It’s being speculated that Camille Grammer and Kim Richards won’t return for season 2, which is a shame because they are so intrinsic to the current dynamics of the show. If they leave, I will truly miss Camille’s “Kelly Killoren Bensimon-esque” misinterpretations and Kim’s bobble-headed non-sequiturs.  However, I know Bravo will find a way to replace the drama, just as Real Housewives of New Jersey replaced Danielle Staub with Teresa Giudice’s sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, to ensure friction between the cast members. And if Bravo takes Denise Richards up on her offer, they would only be replacing a Richards with another Richards. I’ll take it.

Denise already appeared alongside Kyle Richards Umansky on Watch What Happens Live, and the two had great chemistry. Denise reportedly has cited Kyle and Lisa Vanderpump as her two favorite housewives. Coincidentally, her ex, the floundering Charlie Sheen, is neighbors with housewife Adrienne Maloof and Paul Nassif, and is apparently friendly with them. This could all make for great TV.

Just think about how former Real Housewives of Orange County housewife Jeana Keough sided with castmember Tamra Barney’s ex, Simon Barney, after their divorce. Adrienne’s friendship with, and loyalty to, Charlie could cause friction between her and Denise. Obviously, the impact of Charlie’s antics on Denise’s life would be very entertaining (just the story that Denise alleged Charlie molested her two daughters proves that there’s enough dysfunction there to last a lifetime), but Denise, her kids, and her father make for great TV on their own: they appeared on a now-canceled reality show about Denise’s life, entitled Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.

Just consider it, Andy Cohen. But then again, we’ll take basically anyone… except Heidi Montag.
