22 Funny Things Only a True Book Nerd Will Understand

The WB

Have you ever pulled an all-nighter to finish a novel? Do you tend to buy a lot of new books, even though you've got tons of others on your nightstand just waiting to be read? Does your blood boil whenever you see a movie adaptation that doesn't stay true to the original plot? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then it's safe to say that you're a total book nerd (and I mean that in the best, best way).

If you're anything like me, then you understand what it's like to get so immersed in a novel that it becomes your world. The main character's home suddenly feels like your own, their closest friends become your BFFs, and of course, you fall so hard for a character that you start to daydream about being with them IRL. I know it sounds kind of crazy to some, but these stories are what we book-obsessed live and breathe. They're our escape from reality and, frankly, we just don't know what we'd do without them.

Here are a few experiences that only a genuine book nerd will relate to:

1. Falling deeply in love with a fictional character.

Most of us know what it's like to love a written character so much it literally hurts. Feeling butterflies whenever they pop up in the story, fantasizing about what it would be like if you dated them, imagining your perfect wedding day… Yeah, we've all been there. Tris from Divergent or Ron Weasley from Harry Potter, Edward Cullen; we all have felt ~the feelz.~
